July 1 It all started on a blah Tuesday morning. The sky was gray and calm. The ideal weather for Florida. Well, ideal for me anyways. I got to work early and was ready for work. I was the third one there. The nail salon was just like any other salon there is out there. Except ours is half the size it supposedly be. All the other Wal-Mart's salos are so huge, and we got this "hole in the wall" salon. Needless to say, it was fine working there. But then there are time it feels so crowded. the morning was so slow. I was there for at least three hours before any cusomers got in. So Chi L asked me to help her with new pruple Motorola W490. I helped with everything: camera, musics, and games. When I'm not helping her, I spent the morning playing games on my Blackberry (BB) Curves. As the day goes on, customers started to coming in moderately. When there was no one that needed servicing, I play on my BB. When I was playing on my BB, I messed around with the settings, and accidently added my SIM contacts to the BB, which I didn't want to. So I had to delete the numbers one by one. I was almost done when this mother and her daughter came in, and I rushed out of my cramped workspace, and said "How may I help you?" "I want her nails painted," the mother said pointing to her daughter's hands, "and a manicure for me." Her daughter is so adorable. She must be at least 5 years old. She has long, curly dirty blond hair, just like her mom, but darker. As I walked the little girl to my table, I asked them, "What color does she like?" Then out of nowhere, Chi L yelled at me. "You're always playing games! You been playing since you got it. You don't even servicing the customers good enough." I sat her down to my chair, and said back to Chi L, "I wasn't even playing! I was deleting stuffs." Then I went on polishing her nails. I was almost done with it too. I only had two more names to delete. After I said that, she didn't retalliate with anything. She went on with her pedicure. But that didn't stop other people from adding their own opinions, and by others I meant the co-workers. The whole thing just annoyed the hell out of me in the first place, because I wasn't playing. She just assumed I was, and the fact that she yelled at me, ME! She's like my "work" mother, except worse. At least at home I can yelled back at my mother. I know that sounds bad, but whatever. "I already have a mother, I don't need one more," I thought to myself while I was working. As it grows near to closing time, the salon got slammed with customers. Three people already left, so it got full real quick. The whole time I didn't talk to anyone, because I'm still pissed. And at 20 til 8, a fill and a pedi came in. I didn't want to do it. It wasn't my turn anyways. P didn't want to it, because if she do both then she'll leave around 9. So I was coerced to. P did the pedi, while I do the fill. They just assumed (here it is again, just keep assuminng) I would want to do it, because I have no lives. They have kids and families. Shouldn't they want to leave early or at least on time? And this girl had to come in late, and refused to come back tomorrow. So I had no choice. They all keep saying to me "work" so I have money. Since I been saying how I'm running low on cash (which isn't entirely false). And this bitch doesn't even tip well. Granted, I was "running low" but I'm not about to scrape the bottom of the barrel for money! Unlike them. For them, it would be 8.30 pm and they would still taking people in. After I'm done, it was 9. I had prior plans to do T's nails after work. By the time I was home, it was 9.30. Those people are BITCHES! |
